CRUDEN BAY
Perched right on the cliff edge, the Earls of
Errol built a castle around the late 16th century. Rebuilt in 1836 and said
to have inspired guest Bram Stoker when writing Dracula. He stayed at the
Kilmarnock Arms Hotel. The present owners have the original visitors' book
containing his signature. Today, Cruden Bay is well-known for its golf
course, the long sandy beach and the small harbour area, called Port Erroll.
