The market town of Huntly lies on the River Bogie
and offers fishing, walking and castle-spotting. The ruins of Huntly Castle,
once home to the mighty Gordons, in a wooded park overlooking a dramatic
gorge. The Gordons lived here for almost 400 years and, during the 18th
century, were responsible for the design of the town . Whilst Druminor
Castle, once home to the Forbes clan, dates back to the 15th century. In the
town centre, there's the remains of an ancient Druidic circle, known as
‘Stan’in Stanes of Strathlogie’.
