With its golden sand and undulating dunes
protected by cliffs, St. Cyrus has an abundance of wild flowers, butterflies
and moths. Porpoises play in the ocean, whilst a variety of birds can often
be seen overhead. With 300 species of plants across 200-plus acres, the
National Nature Reserve has been established in the bay and the ruins of
14th century Kaim of Mathers castle overlooks the sea.
