MONTROSE
Located at a natural harbour the Royal Burgh of
Montrose provides support services for the North Sea oil industry. There's a
museum at Montrose Air Station, which happened to be the first operational
air station in Britain. The Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre is an
internationally famous wildlife sanctuary situated around a inland lake just
behind the town. The House of Dun, built in 1730 overlooks the Montrose
Basin, and is now the
property of the National Trust for Scotland.
