Now lovingly restored its gloriously proportioned rooms sweeping bay windows and wide staircases create an extremely spacious and very comfortable ambience and from the lower ground level doors lead to a large walled garden. Lying by the sea Montrose boasts a lovely beach and a wide tidal basin host to thousands of migratory wildfowl. Often overlooked by the main tourist 'beats' the scenic coastline offers opportunities for delightful rambles with plenty of sandy beaches to explore whilst the Angus glens afford superb hill walking. Glamis Castle (childhood home of the late Queen Mother) and the House of Dun are well worth a visit and the cities of Dundee and Perth are both within easy driving distance. Golf horse riding and cycle hire can all be found nearby. Shops pubs and restaurants lie within about 200 yards' walk.
