Jedburgh offers an attractive setting to follow
the town trail, take a riverside walk or browse amongst the shops in the
Market Place and Canongate. Mary Queen of Scots stayed in Jedburgh in 1566,
the house now tells the story of her tragic life. In early July, the Jethart
Callant Festival takes place. The Callant leads his mounted supporters in
two weeks of ceremonial rideouts. This is followed by the Jedburgh Border
Games. The award
winning Jedforest Deer and Farm Park is just south of the town, whilst at
the 16th century Ferniehirst Castle, is open to visitors on a limited basis.
