This lovely cottage in Greenlaw, over the border from England into Scotland, was once the village bakery and also a woollen mill, but is now a cosy and welcoming holiday property just a 40 minute drive from the vibrant city of Edinburgh. The cottage is set in a walled courtyard location, and retains its character while ensuring a comfortable stay for its guests. The old commercial oven remains a feature in the sitting room, and there is also a kitchen, dining area, bathroom and three bedrooms, a double which leads to a twin room, and a further, separate twin room. Outside, there is a terraced garden, a lovely spot for a BBQ, and gated access directly to the river Blackadder which runs past the cottage, and fishermen will enjoy this stretch of river with fishing available in season. The amenities of the village are just a few minutes walk away, and the attractions of both the Scottish borders and Northumberland are within easy reach.
