Huntingdon boasts a 13th century road bridge, a
number of Georgian properties and has strong ties with the Cromwell family,
in fact Oliver Cromwell was born here and baptised at All Saints Church, the
final resting place of his father. The George Hotel was owned by his
grandfather and his great-grandfather owned Hinchingbrooke House. Cromwell,
along with the diarist Samuel Pepys were both pupils at Huntingdon’s old
grammar school, now the Cromwell museum.
