Priding itself on its friendly and professional approach to all guests, this Victorian hotel is situated right in the centre of Wisbech, a town with a rich Georgian heritage.
Wisbech is said to feature some of the finest
examples of Georgian architecture anywhere in Britain and although it lies
several miles from the sea it is still classed as a port due to its
proximity to the River Nene. Peckover House dates back to the 18th century
and was donated to the National Trust in the 1940's. Incidentally Wisbech’s
most famous daughter, Octavia Hill helped to create the National Trust and
Wisbech's most famous son, Nicholas Breakspear was the only Englishman to
become the Pope (Adrian 1V).
