Situated a few yards
away from our guest house Bryn-y-Ddafad, Y
Bwthyn Bach is a self contained cottage set in a
peaceful location nestling in the delightful
rolling countryside of the Vale of Glamorgan.
The
spacious ground floor accommodation is
tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished,
centrally heated and double-glazed.
It is very suitable for guests with limited
mobility and is wheelchair-friendly (please
contact us for clarification of the
facilities if your enquiry is for a disabled
person).
It is equally suitable for families (sleeping a
maximum of four) plus a travel cot if required.
The cottage comprises a large kitchen / living
area, a bathroom and one bedroom which may be
twin or super king bedded. In the bedroom ample
storage space is available together with an
additional television and hairdryer. The front
door alongside the dedicated parking area opens
into the living area which has a sprung double
bed settee (which can accommodate two further
guests in addition to the bedroom), large easy
chair, a television and an extensive supply of
tourist information. At night the living area
and bed settee can be screened off for privacy
by drawing across a ceiling to floor heavy duty
curtain. A travel cot and high chair are
available. Access to free WI-FI is available.
The well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven
and hob, a microwave, fridge, a dining table and
four chairs. An iron and ironing board are sited
in the broom cupboard. A laundry service is
available at a reasonable price. The bathroom
has a wash hand basin, a bath with an overhead
shower with transfer points for a wheelchair
alongside the bath and WC. The rear door leads
to a patio area with a garden table and chairs
for 'al fresco' meals in an attractive secluded
garden, with ramped access suitable for a
wheelchair. Within the garden are a pond and a
stream (both with a maximum depth of approx four
feet) making it unsuitable for small children to
be left unattended at any time.
The self catering tariff includes all bedding
(duvets) and bed linen, towels and tea towels.
Bryn-y-Ddafad is situated in a rural location
midway between the villages of Welsh Saint
Donats and Ystradowen and three miles from the
historic market town of Cowbridge. Easy access
to Cardiff the vibrant Capital of Wales and the
exciting Cardiff Bay Waterfront Development. The
highly acclaimed Museum of Welsh Life and the
Grade 1 listed Dyffryn gardens are nearby. With
so much to see and do in the area, Bryn-y-Ddafad
makes an ideal touring base for Southern Wales
including the Heritage Coast, the Valleys, the
Brecon Beacons and the Gower Coast.
