Self catering accommodation suitable for up to 4
persons, located four miles from Falmouth on the
top of a hill overlooking the countryside
towards the Roseland Peninsula, Falmouth Bay and
St Austell. The accommodation downstairs
comprises of a dining kitchen with a cooker,
microwave, fridge and washing machine; a lounge
with a wood burning stove set in a large
inglenook fireplace, a television, video and a
mini hi-fi system. The bathroom and toilet are
also downstairs. Upstairs there are two
bedrooms; one double with the bed against the
wall and one with twin beds. Linen is provided
as are kitchen towels but not personal towels.
As the facilities are situated on the ground
floor the cottage may not be suitable for people
with mobility problems. The cottage is
completely non-smoking both inside and in the
surrounding area. Outside there is ample off
road parking for a car(s), or boat or a trailer.
The cottage has its own small garden and there
is a large adjacent field, suitable for games or
kite flying, with a wildlife pond where small
children will require supervision. The rental
ranges from £150 to £375 depending on the time
of year. The central location is ideal for
visiting both coasts, many tourist attractions
and gardens including several National Trust
properties, the Eden Project and the Lost
Gardens of Heligan. Open all year.
The Custodian’s
House is within the rampart walls of Pendennis
Castle so guests have every chance to explore
Cornwall’s greatest fortress.
The approach is
through the Gatehouse, now the main entrance to
the fortress, and the Custodian’s House stands
just behind the former Guardhouse. From all the
main rooms there are views over to sandy
Gyllyngvase Bay, the mouth of the Helford River
and in the far distance to the Lizard Peninsula.
Guests here have the unique privilege of
enjoying the grounds of this great fortress ‘out
of hours’.

Fort House looks
down on St. Mawes Castle perched on its headland
just a very short walk away. The sweeping views
over the Castle to the open sea, to Pendennis
point in one direction and St Anthony Head in
the other, are breathtaking.

the yachts coming and going into St Mawes
harbour below, and walkers can enjoy the direct
access to the South-West Coastal Path.
