Enjoying a fabulous location for a holiday the superbly appointed cottages at Oaksey Country Park sit within the grounds of Oaksey Golf Club whose Par 35 9 hole course is available for visitors' use subject to green fees – there is also a clubhouse with bar and restaurant. Each cottage boasts its own private garden and hot tub and they all enjoy shared access to the 72 acres of grounds. In addition families staying at Oaksey Country Park can request free passes for nearby Cotswold Hoburne where there are indoor and outdoor heated pools along with additional park facilities.
The village of Oaksey as well as offering a pub serving food within walking distance a post office and cycle hire also lies on the fringes of the famous Cotswold Water Park where 140 lakes set in lovely countryside offer a wide array of outdoor pursuits including sailing kayaking water and jet skiing and a drag tow rope circuit. Lessons in sailing kayaking canoeing and windsurfing can be arranged and there are miles and miles of wonderful walks and a myriad of cycle paths to explore.
There are wonderful day trips to enjoy too. Longleat Safari Park is a firm favourite whilst the beautfiul city of Bath a World Heritage Site and popular destination for Jane Austen fans provides an elegant setting for fascinating historic attractions – including the famous Roman Baths Royal Crescent and Pulteney Bridge – as well as for excellent shopping. Also within an easy drive Cheltenham known for its superbly preserved Regency architecture its impressive range of stylish shops and restaurants and its festivals of horse racing music and literature is well worth a visit as are the nearby towns of Tetbury and Cirencester (7 miles) where visitors can enjoy browsing in an eclectic mix of antique shops and Malmesbury an ancient and lovely hill top town built in golden Cotswold stone and surrounded by the River Avon.
