The Lake District National Park covers almost 900 square
miles, with at least 16 ‘great’ lakes, tarns, valleys,
villages and even beaches! Home to England’s five
highest mountains and the UK’s deepest lake.
The hotel was built in
the 16th century, its black & white exterior,
low oak beamed ceilings, panel walls and log
fires provide a warm welcoming atmosphere.
Our bedrooms are en-suite
with colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities,
hairdryer and direct dial telephone. Some have
four poster beds. Ground floor rooms available.
Luxury suite available. The Hotel is also well
known for the excellent quality of food
available in the lounge and beautiful dining
room (AA 2 Star rosette and Visit Britain silver
award). Dinner B&B midweek (Sun-Thur) special
prices. There is also self catering

Nestled deep in the heart of the Lake District National Park a short walk away from Lake Windermere; West Vale Country House & Restaurant is an elegant traditional Lakeland stone built house built in the 1890's as a Victorian gentleman's residence.
The village of Hawkshead, with its narrow,
cobbled streets, lies near Ambleside and was once a key woollen centre. A
local school desk, with William Wordsworth's name carved into it, has become
a latter-day tourist attraction. The ideal location to tour the Beatrix
Potter Gallery, which contains some of the writer’s original drawings. She
donated land and a number of buildings to the National Trust on her death.
