The Lake District National Park covers almost 900 square
miles, with at least 16 ‘great’ lakes, tarns, valleys,
villages and even beaches! Home to England’s five
highest mountains and the UK’s deepest lake.
The Station Inn at
Oxenholme was originally a farm house which
dates from the turn of the century.
This charming pub and restaurant also boasts
accommodation of a high standard.
There are 4 deluxe double bedrooms and 3 deluxe
family bedrooms. All are en suite, decorated to
a high standard and have tea/coffee making
facilities, TV's, and hairdryers. All prices
include a full English breakfast. All rooms are
non smoking and sorry but pets are not allowed. The restaurant offers a
range of home cooked food using local products
where possible and caters for vegetarians and
others with special dietary needs. There is a
wide choice of specials which reflect the
seasonal nature of the best ingredients. The Bar
provides traditional Cask ales including a full
range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
Crosthwaite House built
in the mid-18th Century has been comfortably
modernised to provide bed and breakfast
accommodation. The House commands views over the
ruggedly romantic Lyth Valley, an area of great
natural beauty, with pleasant fell and woodland
walks. The Lyth Valley, within Lakeland, is off
the popular beaten track, yet only five miles
from both Kendal and Bowness-on-Windermere.
The six bedrooms each
decorated in a restful colour scheme have either
sweeping views over the valley or views over to
the charming church nestled in the valley.
Facilities in each room include a shower and
toilet en-suite, TV with Freeview, hospitality
tray. The use of hairdryer and iron is available
on request. A cooked breakfast using the local
produce and home made jams made from fruit out
of the houses own orchard is included. Guests
can relax in the spacious lounge and enjoy
browsing through the numerous books on what to
do, where to walk, plan your days activities or
just look at the view which has been voted one
of the top ten views in Lakeland by Cumbria

Stonecross Manor is
situated just on the outskirts of Kendal, its
the ideal base to explore some of Britain's'
most beautiful countryside.
All the rooms have

World famous for its mint cake, Kendal lies on
the River Kent. Its cobbled streets and fine old buildings offer a unique
glimpse into the past. Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s last queen was born at
Kendal Castle, the remains of this once-great fortress overlook the town.
The 18th century Abbot Hall exhibits paintings from artists such as Turner
and Ruskin. Its also the location of the Museum of Lakeland Life and
Industry. The office of Alfred Wainwright, author of those famous guides to
Lakeland's hills, can be found at the Museum of Natural History and
Archaeology. The town’s parish church, dates back to the 13th century, and
is one of the largest in the country.
