Cumbria is England’s second largest and least populated
county, with much of its appeal for tourists due the
Lake District National Park.
Designated as a national
park in 1951, the Lake District was largely unvisited
until the 18th century, it was deemed as not an ‘ideal’
location for tourists.
Ullswater House is
located in the centre of Glenridding in the
heart of the Ullswater Valley. The building
dates back to the 1900's and is ideal for a two
family holiday or for groups of up to ten
people.
The accommodation has an
open plan layout with lounge/dining area (lake
and mountain views), electric flame effect fire,
TV, VCR, DVD, CD and radio. Kitchen area with
electric oven and hob, fridge freezer,
dishwasher and microwave. Utility/drying room
with washer/dryer and ironing facilities.
Bathroom with shower over bath, large cubicle
shower, WC and wash basin. Bed linen and towels
all provided.
Ullswater House is ideally
located for walking enthusiasts and country
lovers alike or for those people who just want
to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery. A
short walk from the property will take you to
the shores of Lake Ullswater. From here the
'Steamers' run daily trips between Glenridding,
Pooley Bridge and Howtown. The bustling market
towns of Penrith, Keswick and Kendal are all
within half an hours drive. Many other
activities nearby include - windsurfing,
sailing, rowing boats and bike hire. Just a
short drive from Glenridding is the Rookin House
Equestrian & Activity Centre providing indoor
and outdoor activities for all the family.

The cottage has been lovingly restored and decorated to a high standard throughout, in order to provide warm welcoming accommodation. The village of Armathwaite itself provides an array of interesting walks and the essential amenities of a shop and two village pubs.
