With its fine Georgian architecture and stunning
views over the rolling Devon hills, South Molton lies on the banks of the
River Mole in the Taw Valley. An annual sheep fair dates back to its
importance as a woollen centre during medieval times. The Guildhall houses a
glass-roofed pannier market, and Quince Honey Farm offers visitors the
chance to watch bees at work via see-through hives.
