BED & BREAKFAST: 18th century barn with its
stone roof and converted Gin Gan which takes up to
13 guests and still retains former character. All
bedrooms have tea/coffee making facilities and are
traditionally furnished.
SELF CATERING: Sandstone cottages have been
converted to a high standard from traditional farm
buildings with gas central heating, our own supply
of spring water, TV's and videos, double glazing
and en-suite bathrooms.
We are ideally located for the numerous scenic and
historical sites of Northumbria. Less than half an
hours drive from Raby Castle, Bowes Museum, High
Force, Killhope Wheel, Beamish Open Air Museum,
Durham City, The Metro Centre, Hadrian's Wall and Barnard Castle.

The cottage is set on
a picturesque green in Thornley Village, on a
sheep and cattle farm, situated on the eastern
edge of the North Pennines - an Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Fully equipped and furnished to a high standard
with colour TV, video, CD player, radio cassette
player and oil fired stove set in an inglenook
fireplace. Kitchen complete with electric
cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer,
coffee maker and bread maker.
We are ideally located for walking, pony
trekking, fishing and golf. Beamish Museum,
Killhope Lead Mine, High Force, Durham City and
Raby Castle are less than half an hours drive
away offering an insight into the history of
Northumbria. Within easy reach are the lovely
market towns of Barnard Castle and Hexham and
the beautiful coastline of Northumbria, the Lake
District, Kielder Water and the Yorkshire Dales.
Stabling for horses, dogs are welcome outside
and kennels are provided by prior arrangement.

comfort of Strawberry Hill Farm Caravan and
Camping Park.
We opened the park in the
Spring of 2002 and we have landscaped 6
acres into a park where we have 40 touring
pitches and 10 tent pitches.
As
experienced campers ourselves we know that
guests will appreciate the peace and privacy
we are aiming for.
Our hire fleet of
caravan holiday homes are all 6 berth comprising
of a double bedroom, a twin bedroom plus a pull
out sofa bed in the lounge area. Each bathroom
has a walk- in shower, which is en-suite to the
main bedroom. Additional features include a full
size gas cooker, microwave oven, widescreen TV,
DVD player, micro hi-fi system and the usual
kitchen appliances – i.e.. toaster, kettle and
food mixer etc.
Touring Pitches:
Each of our touring pitches features 16 amp
hook-up and a choice between hard standing or
grass pitches (subject to availability). For our
less able campers, we have a fully contained
bathroom, with full facilities for the disabled.
Dogs are welcome but must be under control at
all times.

Stay for one night or more
in comfortable spacious surroundings 6 miles
from Durham City, with its new and old
shopping centres and wonderful Cathedral and
Castle - if you're feeling fit you could
climb the hundreds of ancient stone steps
which wind round and round to the top of the
Cathedral.
Ideally situated for touring Durham and
Northumberland, and only a short drive away from
attractions such as Beamish Open Air Museum, the
Baltic Art Gallery, The Centre for Life Museum
(which is one of the newest family attractions in
Newcastle), The Millennium Bridge, The Angel of
the North, Bede's World, Hadrian's Wall, Durham
County Cricket Club, the Metro Centre with over
300 shops and lots of entertainment for the
younger visitors such as Metroland, or venture
farther afield to Holy Island, Kielder Reservoir,
Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Killhope Wheel,
Cragside Hall etc. Diggerland is only 2 miles away
- providing fun for all age groups.
B&B: Our bedrooms are en-suite and very
comfortably furnished. We have three double
bedrooms with four-poster beds and en-suite shower
rooms, and two en-suite twin rooms - all with
colour TV/video and hospitality tray. Ground floor
bedrooms with disabled access and family room
available.
Self-Catering: Two recently renovated stone
barn conversions set in beautiful countryside.
South facing patio areas. Ample parking outside
each property. Disabled access. Children welcome.
Short breaks available. Non-smoking.
Walkers are welcome, and we have brochures on the
many walks and cycling routes in the area, and can
provide lock-up facilities for bikes. We will
provide packed lunches if required and clothes
drying facilities. Relax outdoors by the garden
pond or indoors on one of the many window seats,
and enjoy breathtaking views and tranquil scenery
for many miles around. You may even see a deer
venturing out of the woodland or foxes playing in
front of the house.
