The cottage is set on
a picturesque green in Thornley Village, on a
sheep and cattle farm, situated on the eastern
edge of the North Pennines - an Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Fully equipped and
furnished to a high standard with colour TV,
video, CD player, radio cassette player and oil
fired stove set in an inglenook fireplace.
Kitchen, complete with
electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher,
fridge/freezer, coffee maker and bread maker.
Ideally located for walking, pony trekking,
fishing and golf. Beamish Museum, Killhope Lead
Mine, High Force, Durham City and Raby Castle
are less than half an hours drive away offering
an insight into the history of Northumbria.
Stabling for horses, dogs are welcome outside
and kennels are provided by prior arrangement.

areas, ideal for bird watching, and a
variety of wildlife.
BED & BREAKFAST: 18th century barn with
stone roof and converted Gin Gan. Still retains
former character. All bedrooms have tea/coffee
making facilities and are traditionally furnished.
SELF CATERING: Sandstone cottages converted
to a high standard from traditional farm buildings
with gas central heating, our own supply of spring
water, TV's, DVD's, double glazing and en-suite
bathrooms. Ideally located for numerous scenic and
historical sites of Northumbria, and less than
half an hours drive to many attractions.

Nestling within 120 acres of peaceful farmland four pretty and very comfortable cottages are ideally situated for exploring the unspoilt treasures of England's northerly counties. Attractions as diverse as Northumberland's glorious coastline Beamish Open Air Museum and Newcastle's Metro Centre shopping lie within easy reach and Durham city with its castle and cathedral is just 9 miles. The city hosts an annual regatta – England's oldest rowing competition – and the colourful Miners' Gala Christmas Festival and numerous folk events provide excellent entertainment. Visitors can experience the working conditions of Victorian miners in the original tunnel at Killhope Lead Mining Museum or explore Raby Castle one of the country's most impressive medieval fortresses at Staindrop. Quiet roads pass through countryside and some of the finest scenery in England whilst glorious walking starts from the door and the coast to coast cycle track is nearby as are golf coarse and fly fishing and riding.
