Farmhouse is situated on a traditional
private farm on the south of the
Cambridgeshire border, just 18 miles from
the city centre.
The house is set in a beautiful rural
location with surrounding countryside
undergoing restoration of woodlands and
ponds to encourage wildlife.
The cottage has 3 double
bedrooms, dining room, lounge and large bathroom
with Victorian suite and very well-equipped
kitchen. Excellent walking, cycling and horse
riding close by.

farm peace and relaxation is guaranteed.
The cottage is
tastefully decorated and has washing/drying
facilities, colour TV/DVD facility and is
carpeted and centrally heated throughout.

for some wheelchair users. Own private garden

ideal base for local activities there is also a
fishing lake and riding stables within 1 mile.

This fascinating
house was built in 1842 as the principal
gatehouse to Audley End. The ornate surround to
the front door welcomes visitors and the large
rounded bay windows with leaded panes add to the
generous proportions of the house. There are
wonderful views over the beautifully kept lawns
to the River Cam which is dammed to form a lake
as it flows through the grounds.
Each English Heritage holiday cottage has a story to
tell: its past inextricably linked with an historic
house, a fortified castle or a great estate. But
rather than try to recreate that past in our
interiors we’ve chosen instead to reflect the best
of contemporary design.

gardens of a working farm, they offer
fabulous views over the delightful
village of Ashdon and some of the finest
rolling countryside in the heart of East
Anglia, on the borders of Cambridgeshire,
Essex and Suffolk.
They are all within
reach of historical cities such as Cambridge (12
miles) and Colchester, Stansted Airport (14
miles), stately homes, picture postcard villages,
beautiful local walks, coastal resorts and the
exciting attractions of London. We are also with in reach of
the Cambridge business park ideally for those that
need a home from home feel whilst on there
business trips. The three newly converted, brick
built, single story self-catering cottages sleep
2-4, they are regularly inspected with a 3 star
rating and we pride ourselves maintaining the
cottages to a high standard to make your stay a
memorable one with ourselves. Each cottage is well
equipped with comfortable furnishings of neutral
colours, open-plan living areas, wireless
internet, full central heating, double glazing,
flame effect fires, private parking, all laundry
facilities, enclosed front and back gardens,
books, games, an information folder with tourist
leaflets and maps of local walks. A garden hot tub
with relaxing massage jets is available at a small
extra cost.
