This family-run hotel in the West Highlands has good food and comfortable, basic rooms. It is close to Spean Bridge Train Station and 9 miles (14. 5 km) north of Fort William.
This village was named after a bridge built over
the River Spean by the English soldier General Wade in 1736. Later the site
of the first incident involving Jacobite rebels, the bridge was eventually
replaced by a design, from the engineer Thomas Telford in the early 19th
century.
