Broadford is one of Skye’s most popular tourist
centres, and the island’s second largest town. An ideal base from which to
explore the island, it features two harbours and is overlooked by the Red
Hills. The peak of Beinn na Caillich features a cairn dating back to the
13th century, which contains the remains of a Norwegian princess.
Broadford’s main claim to fame involves the fugitive Bonnie Prince Charlie
who left a ‘secret’ with his saviours, the McKinnon's, the recipe for the
