Fairwinds is a modern
semi detached, self catering bungalow situated
in a quiet elevated position on the Elgol road
(B8083) with spectacular views over the
Broadford River and the Red Cuillin mountains.
Fairwinds sleeps 4 persons in one double room
and one twin en-suite room (TV in bedrooms).
There is also a separate bathroom with full
sized bath and shower. Fully fitted kitchen with
dining area. Facilities include electric cooker,
kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge,
washer/dryer. An iron and ironing board is
provided. All linen and towels included in the
tariff.
The property has full
central heating and double-glazing, Sky TV,
video, DVD player mini Hi-fi system. Bicycles
are also available for hire. The comfortable
lounge with it's large picture window is a good
place to relax and watch the sunset after a good
days walking or sightseeing. Shops, bank, post
office and several excellent restaurants are
within walking distance. The area is ideal for
hill walking, cycling and even otters and deer
can occasionally be seen from the window. There
are wonderful boat trips available from nearby
Elgol, Kyleakin and Armadale, where one can see
seals, whales and other forms of sealife.
Fairwinds is an ideal base from which to explore
the Isle of Skye whether by car bicycle or on
foot.

Glorious panoramic views across the waters of the Inner Sound towards Applecross and the Cuillin mountains greet visitors to this recent reconstruction of a Skye 'Black House'. Offering all the charm of tradition it boasts a thatched roof and an unexpectedly light and spacious comfortable interior. In a crofting community set amidst spectacular scenery below the Cuillins the elevated location of this comfortable cottage affords glorious views over the loch and surrounding hills and valleys. As well as being excellent for climbing and walking the Cuillin Hills are about 5 miles away the area offers many other delights. The Talisker Distillery (2½ miles) welcomes visitors Dunvegan Castle is well worth exploring (15 miles) and the Clan Donald Centre is 30 miles' drive. Portree the island's principal town boasts sports facilities including cycle hire good shopping and the Aros Centre with its cinema exhibitions and restaurants. Dunvegan Castle has a
number of Estate Cottages, Farmhouses and Estate
staff dwellings, which are available for letting
on a self-catering basis. All are fully
furnished and extensively equipped with heating
and colour TV. Each kitchen contains an electric
cooker, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer,
dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave oven and
coffee maker.
The cottages are Scottish
Tourist Board's graded. Pets are welcome but
must be kept under proper control at all times
due to the large numbers of livestock on the
estate. Our cottages are aimed at a market,
which enjoys the outdoor life they are practical
and cosy but are not luxurious. Many of our
clients return to us year after year which in
itself is testament to our getting the balance
right. The village of Dunvegan is 1 mile from
the castle where all local amenities such as
hotels, garages, post-office, shops and
restaurants can be found.

Clachan View
is a traditional croft house which has
been extensively upgraded to provide a
high standard of self catering
accommodation.
This cosy
cottage is in an elevated position in the
north of the island with stunning views
across Aros Bay and Loch Snizort to Uig
and the little minch interrupted only by
the Ascrib Islands.
Although a remote location Geary is not at all a
lonely place and any visitors will leave with
amusing memories of island life. The nearest shops
are in Dunvegan approximately 10 miles and the
nearest pub/ restaurant is Stein Inn about 6
miles.
The accommodation can sleep 6 in the 2 double
rooms and 1 twin room (Cots also available).
Facilities include fitted kitchen with
washer/dryer, microwave, oven and hob. The
lounge/dining room has TV, DVD and stereo and a
log burning stove for those cooler evenings. The
grounds are lawned at the front with Skye marble
driveway all the way round the house. There is a
small gravelled area at the front of the house
with a bench on either side of the door.
Price includes all bedding, towels,
electricity, heating and one skuttle of coal for
the fire.
The 'Seagulls
Nest' provides self catering in an annexe
to Carters Rest Guesthouse in Milovaig.
Situated on the west coast of Skye and
overlooking the Little Minch and Loch
Pooltiel. It is open all year round
(Special Winter Prices apply for November
2007 to March 2008) .
It has its own parking space, drying area and
decked patio with table and chairs. All rooms are
warm and comfortable making it an ideal place for
winter breaks as well as summer.
The entrance hall leads into an open plan lounge
and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with
hob, oven, washing machine, fridge freezer,
microwave and sandwich/grill machine. The lounge
comprises a two seater leather settee and a
comfortable single chair, occasional tables and
lamp, radio and CD player, TV with DVD and video,
dining area and fire. This is 4 star Visit
Scotland Rated self catering accommodation.

The
Bothy is a modern, three-bedroomed,
self-catering holiday cottage built in
traditional Scottish style situated in an
elevated position above the single-track Braes
Road (B883), seven miles from Portree. It is
well-appointed and comfortably furnished with
heating in all rooms.
The accommodation includes
a downstairs bedroom with double bed, and a
bathroom with a shower. The upstairs
accommodation consists of the master bedroom
with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with a
bath, and a study/bedroom with a desk and twin
beds. The sitting room has
French windows leading out to a panoramic view.
Furnished with a settee, three armchairs, a
rocking chair. TV and DVD, a radio/CD player and
extensive selection of books. The
comprehensively equipped kitchen includes
washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher,
fridge freezer, microwave, hob, oven and grill.
Bedding and towels are included but visitors
should bring their own beach towels if required.
One well behaved dog can be accommodated by
prior arrangement. There is a no smoking policy
in the house.

Enjoying a glorious location just north of the Point of Sleat this charming traditional cottage stands within 100 acres of wooded valley affording views across the 'sound of Sleat'. The cottage boasts waterfalls close by deer can often be seen and a access track through the ancient conservation woodland leads to a private rocky beach (pictured) ideal for barbecues and wildlife spotting. Visitors can explore this lovely area known as 'the garden of Skye' take trips to see whales and other wildlife and enjoy 'pub runs' to the most inaccessible pub in the British Isles at Knoydart.
