TONBRIDGE

A market town for centuries, with possible town’s origins dating back to Roman times, it lies between the North Downs and the Weald on the River Medway. A ruined Norman castle houses the tourist information centre and is managed by English Heritage. There are numerous walks on offer and Tonbridge is a stop on several major walks, including the 80-mile Wealdway Walk.
