Two miles away the market town of Oakham offers fine shopping galleries restaurants coffee shops and inns and historic Uppingham home to the famous school is 4 miles. Nearby places of interest include Rockingham Castle Stamford Burghley House and Geoff Hamilton's lovely garden at Barnsdale. Local footpaths lead to wonderful views of Rutland Water with fishing and sailing (2 miles).
