beautiful and unspoilt countryside of
Somerset, Stratton Farm is a 200-acre
former dairy farm, close to the Royal
Bath and West Showground at Shepton
Mallet Somerset, and near to the A303.
Comfortable
en-suite rooms with TV and tea/coffee
making facilities, in the former Malt
House and Cheese Room.
The malt room overlooks the stables,
occupied by the family's horses, and calf sheds
which are now used for general storage. Breakfast
is made from locally produced bacon, sausages and
eggs or if preferred jams and marmalade on
homemade bread. There are often sheep on the farm,
there may be six pet ewes and lambs and during the
winter months 200-300 sheep graze the fields. The
beautiful cities of Bath and Wells are within easy
driving distance, as are Cheddar and Wookey,
famous for gorges, cheeses and caves, and
Glastonbury for the 'Tor', sheepskin and the
festival! The rugged Dorset coast with picturesque
villages is about an hour away.

countryside on the southern slopes of the Mendip
Hills, 2 miles from Shepton Mallet and just 8
miles from the city of Wells, Sunningdale offers

The rooms & indeed
the en-suites in this historical Inn are very
spacious & have all modern comforts, including
tea/coffee-making facilities, trouser press,
alarm clock radio, direct dial phone, TV with
movie and news channels & a broadband internet

Whilst each room has been tastefully re-designed
with contemporary oak flooring and cream walls
throughout, each is individually dressed with
the original traditional character of the Inn
being maintained. All the bathrooms have slate

have separate double showers. Key cards are
available if you need a late pass for business
or pleasure.
The Swan Inn provides
bed and breakfast accommodation and is a
privately owned traditional freehouse in the
centre of Shepton Mallet. The homemade food is
from locally sourced ingredients wherever
possible and the menu offers traditional
homemade pub favourites and is supported by a
regularly changing specials board.
We also have probably the
best choice of vegetarian food in the town! There is an excellent range
of drinks including local sourced quality cask
ales and ciders as well as various wines and
spirits. The only premises within a five mile
radius which is featured in the Good Ale Guide.
Shepton Mallet is the home of the famous 'Babycham'
perry, on the edge of the Mendip Hills, is
ideally placed for the Royal Bath & West
Showground, the historic city of Wells, Cheddar
Gorge, Wookey Hole caves, Bath and Bristol.

Classed as grade II by the Department of the Environment, various features are singled out as being of special interest the original Mendip lead drainpipes at the front carry the crest of the original owners and the year of completion, 1732.
