Genuine Finnish log
houses set in private grounds of approx.
4 acres of mature woodland. Rhododendrons,
camellias and azaleas are particularly beautiful
from late April to June.
We have four Finnish log houses and one wooden
house which has been renovated in the Finnish
summer cottage style. All houses are well
separated and have their own parking space/s. We
have a wood-burning sauna which guests can hire
and a small plunge pool for those brave enough
to use it with the sauna in the winter. The pool
is also used in the summer. There is a special
log cabin which houses a full-sized snooker
table. A small charge is made for this facility.
Table tennis is also available under a covered
verandah; this is free of charge. We are close
to Moors Valley Country Park, the New Forest and
the south coast. Well-behaved dogs and cats are
accepted for a nominal charge.
Oakdene Forest Park is a
holiday choice that all the family will love -
set in 55 acres of glorious parkland bordering
the Avon Forest and unspoilt water meadows. The
Park holds David Bellamy's Gold Award for
Conservation.
Over half a mile from the
nearest road, Oakdene is a four star Park just
nine miles from Bournemouth's sandy beaches.
Facilities include heated indoor swimming pool
with flume, heated indoor toddlers' beach area,
heated outdoor swimming pool, heated outdoor
toddlers' pools, fully equipped gym and fitness
studio, Sauna, steam room and spa bath,
sunbathing patio, bicycle hire, Forest walks,
Forest Ranger/nature activities. Table tennis
and pool tables, play areas and crazy golf. We
now have a football field and the lodges have
hot tubs. Live family entertainment in the Oak
Suite. Most facilities are free but some require
an extra charge and some are seasonal. 86
