Poppy Cottage
(and Sunflower Cottage – next door) dates
back to at least the 18th century and was
occupied by the village tailor in the
late 19th century – then called Sunshine
Cottages. Bricked up doorways and windows
can still be seen in the lower part of
the building in Back Street.
The building was purchased by a local builder, Mr.
S. Randell in the early 1900’s who removed the
thatched roof, added an extra storey and converted
it into a workshop – so it remained until
recently. Poppy Cottage has an open plan kitchen
containing an electric cooker, microwave,
automatic washing machine, fridge, coffee maker
and all the usual utensils. A comfortable
lounge/dinning area with 2 two seater sofas,
colour TV with DVD player and CD player/radio. A
shower room with toilet can be found downstairs.
Upstairs there is a further shower room with
toilet, one double bedroom and two single
bedrooms. Gas central heating is provided
throughout. All bed linen is provided in the cost.
Beach towels are also included. Poppy sleeps 4 and
has a paved courtyard with clothes line,
bar-b-que, patio table and chairs. Poppy Cottage
can be found in the centre of the village,
opposite the free car park (donations gratefully
received for the Mundesley Inshore Lifeboat). The
Tourist Information Centre is located at the end
of the car park on Station Road. Parking space for
one car is available in our garden.
