The hotel enjoys outstanding views out over the
unspoiled Sutherland landscape and is the
perfect place from which to explore the northern
highlands. From here you can witness the
difference between the 'flow country' of
Caithness with its sweeping landscapes and open
skies and the rugged scenery with spectacular
mountains and glens that typifies so much of
north Sutherland. Each of our en-suite rooms is
tastefully decorated and all the rooms have a
colour television, direct dial telephone,
hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel is very well known for its cuisine and
has maintained an AA Rosette for many years. Our
restaurant, the An Garbh (roughly translated
from Gaelic to mean 'hilly area') has picture
windows that overlook the Kyle of Tongue, Ben
Loyal, Ben Hope and the ruin of Castle Varrich
that sits on the hill line opposite the hotel.
Our warm and comfortable resident's lounge
shares the same view as the restaurant and is
the perfect place to relax and share your day's
experience with other guests. So if you are
looking for a place to rest your head for the
night after the long journey north or a base for
a longer holiday in the area then the Ben Loyal
will offer you a sanctuary from the stresses and
strains of modern living.
