Cottage.

a special place.
The cottage is not old but has been beautifully
refurbished since the days when it housed the
custodian.
Now, when the public have left the Hall and its
grounds, the peacocks remain, but otherwise the
peace is total and the grounds are there for you
to enjoy at leisure. Still to be seen around
the courtyard is the innovative decorative stone
carving on the walls, entrances and columns whilst
inside many of the rooms used by the household
have been restored for today’s visitors on less
royal progresses to enjoy.
Each English Heritage holiday cottage has a
story to tell: its past inextricably linked
with an historic house, a fortified castle or
a great estate. But rather than try to
recreate that past in our interiors we’ve
chosen instead to reflect the best of
contemporary design.
