A visit to Arundel is
like taking a step back into the past. Arundel
is the Historic Heart of the South Downs. Your
first view of the town is guaranteed to take
your breath away. Dominated by the 11th Century
Norman Castle and Roman Catholic Gothic
cathedral which sit side-by-side, high on a
hillside, Arundel has quaint narrow streets,
specialist shops and a good mix of restaurants.
Separate from the main
house, with its own access, the River Room
offers a secluded overnight, with twin beds, TV,
tea & coffee making facilities and en-suite
shower room. There is external seating on the
decked area outside or on the river bank, which
offers outstanding views of Arundel, including
the Castle and Cathedral. With a continental
breakfast served to you in your room, the price
for a couple or two people sharing is only £60
per night for the room (£55 for single
