We have full stabling facilities and a indoor
arena should our guest's want to bring their
horse on holiday. Situated east of Cambrian
Mountains and close to the River Severn. Ideal
base for visiting Offa's Dyke, Powis Castle,
walking, bird watching, lakes and mountains.

The boathouse sleeps up
to 6 people with 2 pets welcome free. We offer
free fly fishing exclusively to our guests on a
catch and release basis. There are many wild
brown trout in the lake.
On the edge of our 3 acre
former reservoir, the boathouse is surrounded by
13 acres of SSSI woodlands, beautiful natural
gardens with lily ponds, 4 waterfalls, a weir
and views of surrounding fields with sheep and
cows. We are 3 miles from Newtown
in Powys, mid Wales, at the end of a mile long
lane in a quiet, private and secluded location.

The Forest offers 3 splendid Victorian holiday
cottages and a Country House B&B set in 4
acres of beautiful gardens and paddocks.
The tranquil rural setting makes it the perfect
place in which to relax but it is less than a mile
away is Kerry village with pub restaurant and is 3
miles from Newtown. Each cottage accommodates 4 or
5 people and the B&B has 5 En-suite bedrooms. The
furnishings and decoration of each cottage and
rooms are different but all share a style which
respects the original Victorian architecture.
Children of all ages are welcome and there is an
outside play area, tennis court, toy boxes and a
free games room. WI-FI internet is available and
there are kennels and stables. The Forest nestles
in the beautiful Vale of Kerry close to the Kerry
Ridgeway, Offa's Dyke and Glyndwr's Way.
Montgomery with its castle ruins and the medieval
Powis Castle are close by and there are steam
railways and canals to explore.
Porthouse Wood
Cabins offers two cabins available of
similar designs, one called 'The Beeches'
and the other 'The Oaks'.
The cabins are located in the quiet and
peaceful parish of Llanllwchaiarn, just
over one mile from Newtown.
They are situated in a nine acre south facing
woodland and are positioned some distance apart.
The woodland enjoys an abundance of wildlife and
is ideal for bird watching. You may wander through
the wood and along the banks of the River Severn.
This is an area of picturesque rolling hills and
majestic valleys. The cabins are well furnished
for comfort and convenience. Each cosy home has a
colour television, DVD player, electric heating,
electric cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator, and
the kitchen has all necessary utensils. Both
cabins are completely built of wood and are well
situated, ideal for superb holidays at any time of
the year.

Each cottage has its own gardens, as well as shared use of the spacious games room, a children's playground including swing and climbing frame, and the tennis court. Children can also feed and pet the owner's sheep, chickens and ponies, and guests are free to enjoy the owner's formal gardens, with their great array of trees, plants, and abundant wildlife in the woodland and pond. The two pretty cottages can accommodate up to nine people together, and also make the ideal base for a couple or family. The property has been extensively renovated and refurbished to offer charming, well equipped accommodation in what was originally the chauffeur’s cottage. There are some lovely original features such as fireplaces in the bedrooms and sitting room, and a wood burner provides a warm and cosy atmosphere in the dining room. The large sash and bay windows create a light, airy and spacious environment, whether you stay in summer or winter.
