The village's little steam railway crosses the Mawddach estuary (an RSPB reserve) to Barmouth's family fun and sailing windsurfing and fishing are enjoyed locally. Whitewater rafting is found at Bala (25 miles) Coed Y Brenin and Llanberis are close by and Dolgellau (5 miles) has cycle hire and golf.
