Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum are 15 miles Fountains Abbey Newby Hall and the Lightwater Valley are 25 miles and the Lake District is about 35 miles. Reeth (3½ miles) has a small weekly market shops cafés pubs and restaurants. Pub 500 yards.
